Circus Workshops for Primary Schools
A circus experience where everyone gets to play and learn something new! Our circus workshops are great for circus themed topics or events, to reward pupils with a special treat (attendance etc.) or as part of an activity or health week - whatever your reason, we guarantee they will always be memorable and fun.

Over the last 10 years we have developed a basic format that has proven successful for many of the schools we work with, however, we are always happy to adapt the sessions so please do look at the other packages on offer and let us know exactly what you are after.
We can do a fun circus assembly for the classes (or even the whole school) followed by sessions with the groups you want covered. We can also supply certificates for each pupil as a reward and reminder of their achievements.
Our workshops leaders can run sessions for each year group or class. The recommended length will depend on the age of the group and the time available, but our guide explains more.

We also offer specific Circus Science workshops - link here
The equipment and skills taught are selected to set the pupils a challenge whilst still giving them achievable goals. The session times are arranged with you to work alongside your timetable and numbers.
All our tutors are DBS checked and are trained to deliver workshops following our unique style and high standards.
Example Timetable for a small primary school:
9am – 9.20 | Assembly/Demonstration (All classes) |
9.20 – 9.50 | Year 1 |
9.50. – 10.30 | Year 2 |
10.30 – 10.45 | Morning Break |
10.45 – 11.35 | Year 3 |
11.35 – 12.35 | Year 4 |
12.35 – 1.30 | Lunch Break |
1.30 – 2.30 | Year 5 |
2.30 – 3.30 | Year 6 |
We recommend class sizes of 30 children or less, but can manage a few more if necessary. We can supply more than one tutor if needed and a Circus Marquee if you require more space or to add to the overall circus experience.
Staff are welcome to join in too, and often get as much out of the workshops as the children, if not more. There are now many teachers spinning plates like a pro!
Educational Objectives
Our Circus skills and juggling workshops incorporate a wealth of curriculum objectives whilst meeting areas of Every Child Matters in an extraordinarily fun, enjoyable and rewarding way.
There are links to both key stage1 and 2 objectives including:
PE (1) Acquiring and developing skills
PE (3) Evaluating and improving secondaryance
PSHE(1) Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of their abilities.
PSHE(5) Breadth of opportunities
We can run longer workshops and sessions that develop aspects of Science, Maths, Drama and Celebration. Over the years we have worked with schools that use the theme of 'Circus' to deliver a large cross-curricular scheme of work and we are happy to assist in putting together teacher packs and suggested classroom activities.
